If the applicant did not get a firearm through the FLA the following would apply:
In accordance with the Law as outlined in the Firearms Act your firearm must be at your nearest police station or in storage at the Firearm Licensing Authority if you are going to be travelling to another country. Failure to do this may result in penalties.
Hand Guns - $300/month (or part thereof)
Rifles & Shot Guns - $500/month (or part thereof)
Each occasion will be charged the applicable fee.
Make a report at your nearest police station immediately, or within 48 hours of incident, and submit a signed and stamped copy of the report to the Firearm Licensing Authority. The report must give full details of the weapons and the circumstances under which it was lost or stolen.
Only in the case where the person has a valid special permit to do so. Without said permit, it is a criminal offence. for a member of your family or partner to be found in possession of your firearm.
Participation in gun salutes is an offense under the Firearms Act. Licensed firearm holders are not to participate in gun salutes on any occasion, whether it be Christmas parties, New Year’s Eve parties, funerals or otherwise. Failure to adhere to this will result in the firearm being seized by the police, prosecution and immediate revocation of the firearm licence in accordance with the law.
