US Ambassador to Jamaica Donald Tapia visits the FLA

On Thursday, October 1, 2020, United States Ambassador to Jamaica Donald Tapia, accompanied by Christian Ehrhardt (Embassy RSC), paid a courtesy call on the FLA at our Head Office.

The US Ambassador met with our CEO - Mr Shane Dalling JP, and the Chairman of the Board, Colonel (Ret’d) Audley Carter, to discuss several matters in an effort to improve our operations and relationships with our international partners. Additionally, Ambassador Tapia was given a tour of the Ballistic Unit and was shown the operations of both the Brasstrax and Bullettrax machines.

The US Ambassador commended the Authority on its effective regulation of the issuance of firearm licences and gave his commitment to support the Authority’s work in the management of private firearm ownership and governance in Jamaica.
